LEADERSHIP MISTAKES: Who me? Yes you and me and everybody else. Along the journey of leadership you are bound to make a bad decision.

So what’s a person to do when it happens?

1.  Admit your mistake and take responsibility for it

2.  Learn from it and record it

3.  Teach others how to avoid making the same mistake

4.  Don’t make rash decisions before or after

5.   Apologize if needed

6.  Determine the best solution for repairing it

7.  Be a part of the solution

8.  Realize it’s not the end of the World (although it may feel like it is)

9.  Put it behind you and move on

10.  Don’t let it stop you

11.  Don’t let one bad thing override 1,000 good things you’ve done

12.  Be careful about making hasty decisions - period

13.  Think through the consequences of all your decisions

14.  If it is a BIG one, get help and seek genuine restoration (Show genuine fruits of repentance)

15.  Remember, everybody who points a finger at you has three pointing back to themselves

16   Those who are so quick to judge you and criticize you will learn to be far more graceful if they make a mistake

17.  You and I are not prefect – only Jesus was

18.  Make it your business to pray for those who make mistakes
